CLASS GAMES GO'
TO SENIOR TEAMS
1914 Engineers and Laws Take Victo-
ries From Junior Lits and Fresh
Dentists
HITTING OF LEHR IS FEATURE
Senior teams were the winners in
the first day's play of the second round
in the interclass baseball series yester-
day afternoon, the 1914 engineers beat-
ing the junior lits by a 4 to 2 score, and
1914 laws getting the long end of an
8 to 6 game from the fresh dents.
Vollmeyer, in the box for the junior
lits, pitched good ball. Waldo, for the
engineers, managed to pull them out
of the holes by his excellent control.
The fresh dents held a lead over the
senior laws up to the fifth inning, when
Wright weakened, and the score was
tied at 6 to 6. Johnson started the
barristers' rally in the seventh with a
three-bagger to deep left. Lehr, who
has batted 1,000 for the season, fol-
lowed with a single, on which Johnson
scored while Lehr was taking second.
Lehr scored the last run on Collette's
single through second. Gust, the pinch
hitter, ended the inning by striking out.
The dents failed to score in their half
and the campus champions went home
with their laurels intact.
The senior lit-junior engineer game,
scheduled for yesterday afternoon, was
postponed to 4:00 o'clock today.
TENNIS TEAM LEAVES FOR
EASTERN INVASION TODAY
Captain Wilson, Reindel, Andrews and
Hll Picked by Coach Lee
For Trip
The 1913 Varsity tennis team, re-
choSen as the eam of 1914, will leave
at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon to play
the schedule of seven matches in the
east. Captain Edwin C. Wilson, '15,
Ira Reindel,'15E, Allen Andrews, '14L,
and Robert Hall, '14E, are the four,
picked by Dr. A. O. Lee, coach, after
final try-out sets yesterday afternoon.
This will be the third year on the Var-
sity for both Andrews and Hall.
Tomorrow afternoon the team will
play their first match, with Weslyan
at Middletown, Conn. The second
match is with Yale on Monday. Yale
and the Navy will probably provide
the stiffest opposition on the schedule.

SELECT THREE STUDENTS FOR
CONTROL BOARD
(Continued from page 1)
ed last year by the directors. Saier is
the only new man, and up to the pres-
ent time has had no official connection
with athletics, save as one of the try-
outs for the Varsity baseball squad.
The election of yesterday defeats any
possible chance of the matter of direct
electionbeing taken up by the present
board of directors. It became known
yesterday that the resolution which
was defeated called for the submission
of the direct election proposition to the
Board of Regents. Board officers yes-
terday refused to give out the exact re-
sult.of the vote on this question, but it
is understood that the resolution was
not defeatd by a unanimous vote.
