The conference will be held at London, England. The appointment of Professor Sadler was made on the recbmmendation of the department of commerce. The British government has had a commission working on .the problems of greater safety of ships for some time and the conference is an out- growth 'of this commission. BATTLE OF LEIPZIx TO BE OBSERVED BY CELEBRATION Professor Warren W. Florer of the German department will give an illus- trated lecture on "Leipzig, Stuttgart, and the Rhine" at the 100th anniver- sary of the Battle of Leipzig. The cel- ebration will be held in the high school auditorium tomorrow evening at 8:00 o'clock under the auspices of the German society in Ann Arbor. Slides have been made to order for the event. Dr. E. Rosinger, editor of the Abend- post, will be the out of town speaker at the occasion. The entertainment will be free of charge, and all students are invited to attend. Prof. Robert Fulton dean of the school of oratory in the Ohio Wesley- an university, and well known author, teacher and interpreter of literature, will open the twenty-third annual pro- gram of the oratorical association in University Hall Friday night at 8:00 o'clock with an offering of miscellan- eous readings. Professor Fulton has appeared on oratorical association programs sever- al times, and his always been warmly received. With his full, rich voice, en- gaging personality, and thorough knowledge of his subject, he has never failed to create a deep impression.
