COMING AND GOING.
The campus has been likened to a
woman. (The kind that we read about
and never meet, the kind that we hear
of, but never see). It is. whimsical,
changing. It fancies for the passing
moment, then growl tired and turns
aside for 'others, more entertaining,'
more interesting and less boresome.
It is no unusual thing to be a favor--
ite, a "big" man one month and a
"small" one the next. It is no unusu-
al thing to taste of the sweets of ap-
probation-even victory--one month,,
the next to feel the indifference andl
swallow the bitter pill, of unpopularcity.1
The campus lives in the present. It ac-
cepts quickly and forgets easily. ]
That makes it worth while, strangely
enough.
