Blanshard will take part in the, Northern Oratorical League contest, the strongest oratorical contest in the world. It will be held at the Univer- sity of Wisconsin, at Madison, be- tween the following universities. The speakers appear in the order given. Wisconsin-Howard M. Ross, "A Plea For Poets"; Iowa-,john E. Gabriel, ~The New Patriotism"; Illinois-A. V. Essington, "The H-ope of Democracy"; Minnesota-Fred Tryon, "The First Minnesota"; Michigan-Paul B. Blan- shard, "Myself"; Northwestern-V.M. Ilahe-Baksh, "The Challenge of the East"; Oberlin-Bruce R. Baxter, "The Injustice of Justice." llahe- Baksh is from India. Morris will represent the state of Michigan in the inter-state Peace Ora- torical contest at Cleveland. The con- test was scheduled for last Friday night, but as oratorical delegates from some of the states had not yet been selected, the meet was postponed for a week. Morris will speak on "The Price of Peace," and if successful, will be sent to the national Peace contest at Lake Mohonk, New York, on May 14. Both Blanshard and Morris will hold public hearings of. their orations in Newberry hall at 8:15 o'clock this morning. Prof. T. C. Trueblood, will accompany Blanshard, while -Prof. R:. D. T. Hollister will go with Morris.
