MUSIC AND DRAMA
To Play Organ in Auditorium
Next Tuesday at 4:15 o'clock, John
A. Meldrum, a student of the univer-
sity school of music, will give a grad-
uation recital on the big organ in
Hill auditorium. This recital will be
substituted for the twilight organ re-
cital previously announced for the
same hour.
Mr. Meldrum is a talented musician
who came to the university school of
music two years ago, after having
completed the course of instruction
given at the School for the Blind at
Batavia, New York. In spite of his
handicap of total blindness, he has
demonstrated unusual ability as an or-
ganist and pianist, and will take his
diploma from both departments of the
school this year.

Garrick Theatre
McIntyre and Heath, partners of the
stage for 39 years, will bring their
musical comedy offering, "The Ham
Tree," to the Garrick theatre, Detroit,
this week. "The Ham Tree"
is an amplification of a vaude-
ville sketch which this popular black-
face pair originated. It takes its name
from a vision of one of the darkies
of ha" and eggs growing on trees.

Thomas A. Edison's latest invention,
the diamond (point) disc phonograph
marks a new standard in musical In-
struments. This lately improved disc
machine offers to music lovers dis-
tinctly new and advantageous features
which no other phonographs have.
The features are each and all import-
ant ones and °well worth considering.
Among them are-indestrucible rec-
ords which play almost twice as long
as any other-better (much better, in
fact, perfect) reproduction-greater
volume, no changing of needles-no
wearing out of records even in playing
as many as 3000 times. I offer you a
special easy payment plan so that you
may have one of these instruments
now if you wish without burden. A. S.
