REFLECTIONS. A new world is being made over- night. A virulent, powerful, restless: Nature is asserting itself, on all sides of us. The hillsides are bursting out in leaf, the rich loam is fairly quiver- ing with renewed life, in answer to the April suns. The trees arealready fill- ed to overflowing with the throbbing blood of spring. Soon we will be liv- ing in a world of green. Everywhere in Nature there is life and action. Yet we, what is the mat- ter with us? We are star gazing, cloud-struck, listless, dreaming-and lazy. We are steeped deep in the "placid stupor of contemplative indif- ference." What forbidden fruit have we par- taken of? Or is it that human beings are slower and less accessible to Na- ture's moods than the trees, the grass and the hillsides? THAT DAMNED WORD "BUSINESS.." Everywhere, there is the mad race for money, for business. Men, morals, ideas, ideals, friends, ambitions, every- thing and anything must be sacrificed to money, to business. A college edu- cation is for business? Our theatres are for business? Our magazines are for business? Our courts are for busi- ness? Our politics are for business? Our play is for business? Where will it end? Recently, we met a "foolish, theoret- ical, fanatical idealist, a dreamer," who believed that business was but a means to an end, that business was but a part of our life, that success was not to be reckoned entirely in coined eagles, that after all, we are to live, then make money. May his kind increase! .... ... .....mm ..MAMAS TEMPLE To-day 2 Hour Show spring and Summer Styles er nr We are the people who beet UUI Classy Creations for swell I make it a suit possible for you to buy at reasonable prices.
