GE'RM1'S-.
The university health service is just
beginning in a broader field of endeav-
or- -that of preventative medicine and
hygienic instruction. Until this time,
the staff members have been so over-
'whelmed with the prodigious amount
of work required by student treatments
that the sanitary conditions surround-
ing our local life have necessarily gone
without their proper share of atten-
tion.
The idea of a responsible represen-
tative, from each house group, prom-
ises a much needed reform by at once
the most practicable and helpful
mjeans. As a representative of the
health service the house members will
be given opportunity for instruction
and advice in such a manner that it
will be of lasting benefit, not "only to
the group but also to the individual, in
his student and later years. In an
official capacity, the student represen-
tative may closely observe conditions
in his own group and by avoiding un-
sanitary practices, and taking proper
precautions, control health measures.
A benefit in the way of better health
will certainly be gained. Take heed,
therefore of the germ of this new idea.

"The Dansante" is a Portugecse cor-
ruption of "The Dance Aunty," and is
so pronounced. It means a dancing
party to wvhiclh everybody invites the
aunt of somebody else. "T!he" is the
definite article, dual numhber, superla-I

Maxixe is pronounced by taking a
thin wine glass and biting a semi-cir-
