SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1913. -The progress of this world de- pends upon the excess of births over deaths, not only In people, but in ideas. B. Fayre-Night Editor. OUR THANKS. Our heartiest thanks to the Board in Controll Many mysteries have been solved. We know definitely what 2ias been done, how it was done, the plans that have been formulated for the future and that a committee has been ap- pointed with the intention of finding out from the Michigan Regents what course the Board in Control shall pur- sue. Truly we would be ungrateful if we failed to appreciate these favors. Purposely, we have not criticised anyone. We started out to find out why the Board in Control bad not ap- pointed the committee that was au- thorized on March 22. The statement in the motion adopted last night ans- wers us fully: "The Board in Control is now and has been since the above date awaiting the further instructions of the Board of Regents." Obviously it was impossible to appoint the com- mittee under the circumstances. We asked for an official statement and we have it. Intense interest wii now follow the course that the Michigan Regents will advise. We pray that due considera- tion will be given the views of the students, alumni and faculty. Past ex- periences have established our faith in the Board of Regents, and we feel sure that our prayer will not be a vain one. MUSIC AND DRAMA. Garrick Theatre.
