-Librarian Theodore W. Koch had not
recovered sufficiently yesterday to
leave his house, but he is steadily im-
proving and hopes to get out tomor-
row.
-Odd jobs and places for spring vaca-
tion are in demand at the Y. M. C. A.
employment bureau. Several appli-
cants for cleaning work have been re-
fused. Householders wishing to secure
help may do so without charge by tel-
ephoning 823.
-Jackson high school defeated Ann
Arbor last night in a debate on the
minimum wage question. Jackson up-
held the negative, and won the unani-
mous decision of the judges.
-Announcement has been made of the
engagement of Miss Blanche Bayless,
15, to Osborne A. Brines, '15P. Miss
Bayless will n1ot return to school next
year as she had intended
-Prof. T. M Iden's UpperRoomBible
class will discuss "The Youth of Je-
sus" at the Bible Chair building at 7:00
o'clock tonight. Wellington H. Tinker,
of the Y. M. C. A., is to speak, and a
social program has been arranged for
the evening.
-University hospital authorities re-
ported yesterday that the condition of
Pedro A. Piza, '17E, who was operated
upon for an abscess of the lung several
days ago, was somewhat improved. Pi-
za is still, however, in a serious condi-
tion.
-Physicians attending Fred L. Van
Dolsen, '14L, who is in the university
hospital with an attack of blood-pois-
oning, say his condition will warrant
his leaving the institution in a few
days.
-Robert W. Collins, 117E, from Jack-
sonville, Florida, is in the university
hospital suffering from an attack of
pneumonia. Authorities at the hospital
say that his condition is improving.
-About 70 couples were present at the
Wright Saxophone Trio party held at
the Union last night. Mr. and Mrs.
Henry W. Douglas chaperoned the
dance.
-Dean T. Smith of the homeopathic
hospital will relinquish his duties at
the university at the end of the college1
year due to ill health. He will make
his residence in a milder climate, prob-
ably remoying to Daytona, Fla., next
fall.
-Ferris Institute club will meet to-
morrow night at 7:30 o'clock at Web-
ster hall. All members are asked to
be present.

Dean Andrew F. West, head of the
Graduate School of Princeton Univer-
sity, will give an address, Friday ev-
ening, April 3, before the Schoolmas-
ters' Club, in the upper hall of the Me-
morial building on "The Changes in
the Undergarduate Course of Study in
Princeton University and the Results in
Respect to both Undergraduate and
Graduate Work."
Since the retirement of President
Woodrow Wilson from Princeton Uni-
versity, Dean West has been frequent-
ly spoken of as the most widely known
member of the Princetonfaculties.

INDOOR MEET NEXT MONDAY
Women enrolled in physical training
classes will hold their annual indoor
meet at 7:15 o'clock Monday night in
Barbour gymnasium. There will be
class contests in floor work and vari-
ous kinds of apparatus work, ending
with a relay race. The class winning
the greatest number of paints will
have its numerals inscribed on the sil-
ver cup kept for that purpose in Bar-
bour gymnasium. To the five women
holding the highest scores, individual
awards will be given.
Miss Chadwick, Miss Hartshorn, and
Miss Yocum of Detroit,and Mrs. Bragg,
of Ann Arbor, will act as judges.
All university women may- attend
this meet. There will be no admission
fee.
Dr. F.M. Kallen Will Speak on Bergson
Dr. Forrest M. Kallen, of the Univer-
sity of Wisconsin, will speak before
the members of the Acolyte and Quad-
rangle societies this afternoon at 4:15
in room 205, West hall. His subject
will be "The 1-ebraic Element in Berg-
son's Philosophy." The lecture is not
public and only members of the two
societies will be admitted.
