BAR ROLLER SKATING ON WALKS
Roller skating on the campus must
stop.
The auditing board of the unversity
ls&ied this ultimatum yesterday fol-
lowing numerous complaints, by stu-
dents, faculty members and pedestri-
ans. Notices will be posted about the
campus today.
The board states that skating on the
big square enclosing the campus is
not objectionable, but that the hum-
drum on the walks which cut through
the university square must cease.
Deputation Team Visits Eaton Rapids
University Y. M. C. A. deputation
team will go to Eaton Rapids Friday
afternoon, remaining until Sunday
night, to interest the high school men
there in the university.
Hoisting Derrick Towers 100 Feet
Towering 100 feet above the men
working on the foundation of the new
stadium on Ferry field, the frame of
the tall derrick, which will elevate
concrete for building the superstruc-
ture, was completed yesterday.
CA 1PUS IN BRIEF
-The last number of the American
Naturalist contains a contribution on
"The Biology of the Thysanoptera" by
Professor A. F. Shull of the zoologi-
cal department. The material for the
article Was obtained at the biological
station at Douglas Lake in the summer
of 1912.
-Professor 0. C. Glaser will lecture
on "The Natural History of the Oys-
ter" before the class in zoology 24, in
the museum lecture room at 7:00
o'clock this evening.
-Quadrangle society is publishing a
book of poems and stories which have
been read at the society meetings dur-
ing the past ten years. The book,
which will contain about 200 pages ofy
reading matter, will be reserved for
private circulation.
-Prof. T. X. Iden will continue his
lecture on "The Story of Jacob" in the
Bible Chair building at 4:10 o'clock
this afternoon.
-Members of this year's varsity de-
bating team will be presented with
Alger gold medals, in the oratory room
at 4:00 o'clock this afternoon. Those
who will receive them are Sylvan S.
Grosner, '14, Werner W.Schroeder, '14,
Samuel Witting, '15, Lyman S. Hulbert,
'14L, Karl J. Mohr, '15L, and Louis D.
David, '14L.
-Prof. C. F. Kroeh, of Stevens Insti-
tute of Technology, will speak today
at 11:00 o'clock in room 348 of the
engineering building. His subject is
"The Man and the Engineer.
-The Webster-Alpha Nu Cup debate
was postponed from April 16 to April
18, by the Oratorical board yesterday
in order to avoid conflict with the lec-
ture by Hon. Dean C. Worcester on
that date. The Jeffersonian-Adelphi
Cup debate will be held on April 17.
