HAFF Michigan's indoor track schedule will be brought to an end with the Cor- nell-Michigan dual encounter, sched- uled for Waterman gymnasium, Sat- urday evening. The Ithacans, heart- ened by the victory of their team in the two mile relay race at Pittsburg, come with the determination to avenge the defeat given them on this oc- casion last year. The Varsity meet last Saturday serv- ed as a trial to determine the person- nel of the Michigan squad that will be entered in the approaching fray with the Big Ited team. It is probable, however, that Farrell will hold trials in some events, Wednesdaiy, to give more-men a chance toqualify. The showing of the Michigan quartet In the Jittsbprg relays was not a dis- appointment to either Farrell or Haff. The Wolverine ex-captain and star half miler said that the Michigan run- ners made better time Saturday than they had made before this season. Jansen made the fastest lap for Mich- igan, covering the distance in 1 min. 59 1-5 see, Both Jansen and TIaff are slower on an indoor track than out doors, so the showing in this race will not have any bearing on the chances of Michi- gan in the Pennsylvania relays, which are staged outdoors on Franklin field.
