Torrey Myron Watkins FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 1914. HONOR WHERE DUE. Out of 215 members of the senior law class, there are about 15 or 20 men who can justly plead poverty in the matter of donating a dollar or so toward a class memorial. For these men, we have the deepest sympathy and the deepest respect. They Are to be excused and because of the right- eousness of their excuse, we bow be- fore them. They are are exceptions. Provisions must be made for such men. IS THE PAST ALL WRONG? But shall the other 200 use the ex- cuse? Shall the class be excused? Is there no lve, no appreciation, no sympathy in the senior law class? The answer is in the memorial. The me- morial is a gift. With it goes Michi- gan spirit, appreciation and good will. Does not Michigan need such expres- stons? A contribution to a loan fund for the use of needy students serves a double purpose: It aids the deserving. It expresses sympathy for the less for- tunate and love for Michigan. We are unwilling to see this tradi- tion go by the boards. We are unwill- ing to believe that the real sentiment of the senior law class has been ex- pressed. Is the past all wrong? SO SHALL IT BE. The funny women shall have our column. Campusmiles shall be theirs and theirs only for one whole issue. We do not want to be selfish with our humor. God bless 'em, we wel- come the suggestion. They shall have their wish. If they do well, they shall have it again and again. But they must prove themselves first. They shall write, edit and publish without influence from us. We are ready for nominations for the editress, public or private. Don't play with us. We are serious. We are expecting numerous replies. Koanzaland and Culture Were as fine as could be heard; The others-they were just as good, "Best ever" was the word. I've seen "A Model Daughter" twice, My thoughts I'll frankly tell: If the others got "best ever," 'then the last was good as one could find between New York and Se- attle. --- The pronunciationl, y' know, depends on how many gold teeth you have in your mouth.
