-Efficiency" is the subject of a lecture
to be given by Mr. Baldwin at 11:00
o'clock today in room 348 of the new
engineering building.
-Prof. T. M. Idea will begin a series
of lectures with the subject, "The
Character of Isaac," at 6:30 o'clock to-
-night in the Bible Chair building.
-I. S. Ritter, 'MOE, took ,the second
block of the challenge billiard cham-
pionship series last night from C. E.
Lehr, '14L, holder of the title, 102-100.
The score of the series now stands 200
-195 in favor of Lehr, with the final
point of the 300 point match to be play-
ed tonight.
--Nominations for next year's officers
of the university Y. M. C. A. will be
made tonight by the nominating com-
mittee. The election will be held on
March 29 and 30.
-Bruce les, '14, was called to De-
troit yesterday by the death of an un-
cle.
-The senior reception will be in
charge of the engineers this year. The
following men have been appointed to
the committee: R. D. Wiley, chairman,
C. W. Howell, A. P. Heinze, H. E. Heil-
man, and A. C. Fletcher.

(Continued from Page 1)
tically all the music was written by
Willis A. Diekema, /i4, who also di-
rected the orchestra for the produc-,
tion. "I'll Always Love You," music
by Diekema, and lyrics by W. R. Mel-
ton, '13, the author of the book, and
Sylvan S. Grosner, '14L, "If I Could
Only Find a Girl," by Melton and Diek-
ema, and "The Language of Love" by
Grosner and Diekema are easily the
lasting musical hits of the production.
although "I'm a Nut" was extremely
successful as a novelty offering.
Chorus Work Excellent
On the whole the chorus work was
excellent. Charming gowns were worn
by the fair maidens and they looked
less like men than they have in past
years. The dancing was also very
creditable, and the only criticism that
can be made of the chorus is that its
singing had not enough volume to car-
ry well over the footlights.
The beautiful scene of the Cabaret
Mornet with the colored lights playing
on the fountain, has not been equalled
in past Union operas and in fact the
staging of the entire irformance pre-
sented a professional appearance.
The first night was marred, as it us-
ually is in an amateur production by
several hitches throughout the per-
formance, but these may easily be
eradicated before Friday night and-
when'the show goes "on the road" it
will undoubtedly be as near profes-
sional as it is possible for amateurs to
make it.
