Trainer Farrell has selected the fresh-
man track candidates who showed the
most promise in the recent yearling
trials, for a preliminary squad to work
with in developing the All-Fresh trackI
team. In addition to the freshman
meet, the half mile run was staged
later in the week, Kirby winning' the
evenlt in 2:11 1-2.
Thef other fresh candidates will all
be handled by Intramural Director
Rowe until later in the season, when
they will be given another opportunity
to make good. The men picked for
the different events follow:
Sprints-O'Brien, Burbee, Root,Zieg-
ler, Stiver, Fontanna, Herrick, Smith
and Popkes; quarter mile-Stevens,.
Robinson, Dilley and Dunne;half mile
-Kirby, Kucera, Korh, Gregory and
Fish leigh; mile-Carroll, Grauman
and Bossou; high jump-Waterbury,
Butler, Davis, Thurston; pole vault-
Wilson, Skinner, Bailey; hurdles-Cor-
bin, Thurston and Filson; shot put--
Cross, Leach and Edwards.

President Harry B. Hutchins and
Dean H. M. Bates, of tihe law depart-
ment, will be the principal speakers
at the annual banquet of the Washte-
naw Bar Association to be held at the
Alenel Hotel at 8:00 o'clock tomor-
row night. Other prominent speak-
ers oan the program are: Judge McAl-
vey, of tile Supreme Court at Lansing,
Thomas Kenny, tax commissioner,
General John P. Kirk, of Ypsilanti,
Judge Kinne and John Lawrence of
the local bar. M. J. 'Cavanaugh will
act as toastmaster.
DR ANGELL'S TALK POSTPONED
President Emeritus James B. Angel]
will be unable to speak this afternoon
in Newberry hall on the "Chinese
Problem," as was announced. A rath-
er severe cold has attacked his throat,
making it difficult for him to talk for
any length of time.
Dr. Angell's talk, which was to have
been the second of a series of lectures
given under the auspices of the univer-
sity Y. W. C, A. by various members
*of the faculty, will, however, be given
at 4:30 o'clock, Sunday, March 8, in
the before mentioned place.
