Fine Watch and Jewelry repairing MUSIC FOR OPER A TO BE READY SOON All of the music for 'A Model Daugh- ter," the 1914 Union opera, is now in the hands of the publishers, and proof of most of it has been read, so that the complete score will be ready for use in the near future. W. A. Diekema, '14, who wrote most of the music for last year's production, has written all of the music this year, with the excep- tion of one piece composed by Waldo Fellows, '14, entitled "The Land of Love." The cast is being picked gradually, on account of the inability of Director Bert St. John to get out from Detroit as often as necessary. He was in town yesterday afternoon, but had to return in the evening, making it necessary to call off last night's rehearsal. Parts have been assigned to a number of the men however, and another rehears- al will be called within a few days to go over the first act. The chorus rehearsal called for Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock, for singing drill, has been changed to a dancing rehearsal, and chorusmen should come prepared. PAGEANT REQUIRES 31 LEADING PARTS So gigantic are the proportions of the Joan D'Arc pageant, which is one of the biggest ventures of its kind ever undertaken by a university student body, that 31 principal parts will be necessary in the cast to adequately stage the production. However, there is to be no duplication of roles in the cast, and the approxiinate total of peo- ple needed will be 400. The time re- quired for staging will be about two and one half hours. At a recent meeting of the various committees, called by Helen Brande- bury, '14, general chairman, it was de- cided to hold a poster contest similar to the one conducted by the Union and to make the prizes offered for the best drawing open to all undergraduates: During the next several weeks, there will be displayed in the exhibition cas- es in the corridors of the library, small' cuts of the standards and banners which will be used in the pageant. The cuts are taken from Wallon, and the actual standards will be copied as nearly as possible from from his ex- amples. Prof. HI A. Kenyon proposes to em- phasize the importance of having ev- ery detail strictly French,- and repre- sentative of the times in the pageant, especially in the costumes. For this purpose, he will probably make a trip to New York soon, to arrange matters with the firms engaged to handle the costuming. Postal cards numbering 2,000 are being sent throughout the state among the alumni of the university, in the effort to stimulate statewide interest. Articles will appear from time to time in the various newspapers of the state. For Sale-Full set Michigan reports with 100 standard text books-fine condition.
