AT OTHER COLLEGES
More than 20 tryouts were present
at the track relay at Pennsylvania,
called by Coach Orton, this week. Mo-
tion pictures of the Olympic games
were shown.
Thirty-two students at the Univer-
sity of Illinois were dismissed from
the university for unsatisfactory work
during the past semester.
Cornell's new course in Eugenics
was opened this week by Prof. A. W.
Gilbert. The course is given with a
view to educating the public, and is in
no sense sensational nor technical.
Williams College is seriously con-
sidering the adoption of the point sys-
tem for participation in campus activ-
ities.
A Junior woman student at Wiseon-
sin has organized a class to teach the
new dances to the men and women of
the faculty. The younger members of
the faculty are said to be especially
interested in the scheme.

-The Forestry club hold its annual
dance on Friday evening, February
27, at the Packard academy. It will
be limited to 40 couples:
-Tdryouts for Moseres "Ultimio," the
annual production of the Deutscher
Verein, will be held next week from
Tuesday to Friday in room 305 Uni-
versity hall. The play will be staged
in the middle of April. Aspirants may
tryout on Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00
o'clock, Wednesday and Thursday
from 5:00 to 6:00 o'clock, or Friday
from 3:00 to 5 :00 o'clock.
--Prof. G. A. Brodie Broekwell, of
McGill University, lectured on "The
Espousals of Isaac and Rebekah" at
Memorial hall yesterday afternoon, at
which time he made known some in-
teresting facts in anthropology and
threw some light on the new method
of tracing the lineage of the Semites.
--Michigamua members will go to De
troit this afternoon to attend a ban-
quet which will be held at the Tuller
hotel Saturday evening at 6:30 o'clock.
The Detroit alumni members of the
society will entertain.

H Wilkins, '14, with 3,015 points were
high men in the round of the Union
bridge tournament played last night.
The tournament will be continued for
two or three Friday nights longer, at
which time the high men in total
number of points will be awarded the
prize.
-Blanks for the international wire-
less test have been sent by the British
Association for the Advancement of
Science to Mr. H. S. Sheppard, of the
electrical engineering department.The
papers will be used for reports in the
wireless test which will be held dur-
ing this year. The Michigan radio
station will cooperate with other sta-
tions throughout the world.
-The banquet of the Illinois club,
held at the Union last night was at-
tended by 50 men. A varied program
was offered, the principal speaker be-
ing Prof. E. C. Goddard, of the law de-
partment, and a former resident of the
state of Illinois. M. F. Dunne, '17,
son of the governor of Illinois, deliv-
ered a message from his father, in
which the latter expressed his regret
at being unable to attend the banquet
as had been planned. Talks were al-
so given by H. D. Parker, '16L, presi-
dent of the club, S. L. Adelsdorf, '14,
and W. W. Schroeder, '14. Music was
furnished by Bruce Bromley, '14, who
substituted for G. M. Moritz, '15, as the
latter was unable to attend.
-Senior engineers collected $38 in
their first campaign for regular class
dues yesterday. About $80 is"still out-
standing, and it is planned to collect
the most of this at the regular month-
ly assembly periods, when opportunity
will be given to pay.
-Dr. George Elliott will speak on
"Faith and Knowledge" under the aus-
pices of the Wesleyan Guild at the
Methodist Episcopal church Sunday
evening. Dr. Elliott is well known
over Michigan as a preacher and lec-
turer.
-Several electrical engineers have al-
ready signified their desire to take.
a trip during spring vacation to visit
some of the larger cities. A vote will
decide whether the trip will be made
to the east or west. All who are in-
