CAMPUS IN BRIEF
--Craftsmen will give a dance at Pack
ard Academy tonight. Tickets may be
purchased from members of the com-
mittee or at the door, at $1.00 per
couple.
--The graduate club will hold a social
party and dance at Barbour gymnasi-
um tonight. Dean and Mrs. Karl E.
Guthe will act as chaperones. All
graduates are invited to attend.
-Dean Victor C. Vaughan will ad-
dress the junior engineer assembly to
be held in room 348, new engineering
building, at 11:00 o'clock today.
--To meet a general demand, the
course in dramatic technique, given
by Professor Strauss and formerly
intended for the cast of the senior
girls' play, has been changed to a two-
hour course open to the general stu-
dent body of the literary department.
-Announcement of the action taken
on petitions taken for carrying extra
work by students in the literary de-
partment has been mailed to the peti-
tioners and will be in their hands to-
day. According to the rules laid down.
by the officials of the department, no
more requests will be received after
today.
-Mr.F.W. Pawlowski, of the mechan-
ical engineering faculty, will addess
a meeting of the aeronautics class at
1:00'o'c lock this afternoon in room
248 of the engineering building. The
meeting will be in charge of F. E.
Loudy, '15E
-More than 150 freshmen engineers;
dined at the Union last night. A glee.
club, composed of 25 members, and a
mandolin club, furnished music for
the affair. Assistant Dean W. H-
Butts and Prof. H. C. Anderson spoke.
-The Alpha Nu literary society held
its annual banquet at the Michigan
Union last night. L. H. Dunten, '14-
'16L, was toastmaster and the speakers
of the evening were: Professors Rob-
"ert E. Bunker and U. B. Phillips, A.
H. Povah, '12, S. Witting, '14, D. N.
Sweeny, '13, and J. Levin, '15.
--The Fast number of the Gargoyle
will be starred by a cover the design
of which is a sensation both in origi-
nality of conception and artistic mer-
it. All copy for this number must
be sent in by the end of this week.
