F. Jabin Hsu. CHESTY? Mr. Student, aren't you quite chesty about your Michigan Union? We think so, You are, and you have good cause. The Union is but ten years old. It has 2,800 members, it entertained 60,000 persons and was responsible for 600 meetings and entertainments, during the last twelve months. Think of it! It is the largest, most active and most eficient Union in the land. Think, what this socializing influence means to Michigan, with its six thousand students. Think, what this must mean to the men who conceived the organization, to "Bob" Parker, the Union's first president, to Dean Bates, to Professor Scott and to others whose names are bywords with us. The Union must grow. Its facilities must increase with its membership. The Union has outgrown its swaddling clothes. The Union is ten years old. Mr. Student; you are just a little bit chesty about this. What are you going to do about it?- THE COMEDY CLUB. Last. night's performance of Percy Mackaye's "The Scarecrow" was a tri- umph for amateur college dramatics. The club played to a packed house and to an audience that was thorough- ly sympathetic and appreciative. The audience had ample cause to be pleased. The players were well train- ed, the play was forceful, admirably fitted for college dramatics, and the music and orchestra more than fulfill- ed expectations. The presentation was a success, thanks to the efforts of Manager Co- hen, Professor Stanley, Mr. Earl V. Moore, the orchestra and the student actors. The "Standard" Loose-leaf note book at Wahr's-your name on cover without charge. the student body has risen. -A number of students who have reg- istered with the appointment commit- tee have failed to hand in the required photographs and recommendations. The committee requests that these be handed in as soon as possible. SENIOR ENGINEERS NOMINATE THREE MEMBERS FOR COUNCIL Davis Dudley, Charles Howell and W. Cook were nominated for the stu- dent council by the senior engineering class yesterday morning. One man will be chosen from the three, to take the place of Albert Fletcher. According to the council constitu- tion, only two men should have been nominated, but as most of the class left while the votes of the second bal- lot were being counted, the tie of two men for second place could not be broken by another ballot, so it was decided to allow the three candidates, to run. The election will be held next Thursday morning. VARSITY FOOTBALL PLAYERSF ]RECEIVE EMIBLEMATIC FOBS Members of Michigan's 1913 Varsity football team have received their min- iature gold football fobs, emblematic of their successful season. The Cornell and Pennsylvania scor- es in addition to the player's names, are engraved on the fobs. Captain Paterson'steam is the first since 1910 to win these fobs, which are only given to elevens which either win both of their big games, or win and tie the two major contests.
