All men de- siring places, whether in last year's show or not, will be required to com- pete. There are about 16 positions to be filled. The management has expressed the wish that all tryouts be prepared with a short selection. The eliminating process will be employed, and a sec- ond tryout may be held, if too many men remain after Thursday night's weeding. Although there are some parts which do not require singing ability, men will be tested for their proficiency in this direction. Non-ath- letic rulings require that no freshmen shall try out. Fifteen artists were present at the poster meeting held at the Union last night, and others will enter the com- petition later. The nature of the opera was explained to them, and they will be given until Tuesday, January 13 to work on the competitive designs. The same design will be used for both the poster and the music score. Three colors and black will be used.
