Parker, editor-in-chief of the Cornell Widow, and a senior in the college of arts, has been suspended until next September, and Archibald M. Parker, of Pittsburg, artist, has been placed on probation for the rest of the year, because of the recent publicatipn of the so-called "Temptation number" of the Widow. Complaints came to the faculty that articles and sketches in the number were risque and suggestive. Student feeling runs high, and it is said some form of protest to the action of the faculty will result. 311SICADDRA YA. Concert Introduces Guest. Harper C Maybee, director of music in Western State Normal College, was the magnet that drew an unusually large audience to the high school last night, thereby proving the wisdom of the school of music in introducing guest soloists into the faculty con- certs. That Mr. Maybee fulfilled expecta- tions is evident from the applause that followed his songs. Possessed of a powerful, sympathetic baritone, he was heard to best advantage in a dra- matic aria form "Don Carlos." The failure of the Loewe ballade to create a favorable impression was in no way the fault of the singer. A Hadyn quartet was used to open the concert. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Lock- wood, A. J. Whitmire, and R. P. -all played this number with precision and charm, impressing the audience very favorably. Dash and brilliance characterized Henry J. Dotterweich's piano selec- tions, of which Liszt's glittering "Gno- menreigen" was the best. Mr. Samuel Lockwood played the second move- ment of a Mozart concerto with full appreciation of its beauty. Adequate accompaniments were of- fered by Nellie Mae Goucher and Earl V. Moore.
