Compared with the trouble met with in former productions, the early sue- cess bids well for the final outcome of the play. Handicapped by the lack of experienced players, the club in- augurated its work this season with gloomy prospects. Some unusual talent has been un- earthed among the newer members of the club to fill the gaps left by the graduation of last year's stars, and the enthusiasm displayed by the try- outs in the tiresome preliminary work, makes up for their lack of experience. As a radical departure from other years, the setting and costumes used in the "Scarecrow" will be entirely new. Great care is being lavished upon the costumes, and the policy of supplying the best in the line of scen- ic effects is expected to be of material help.
