E CREAM AND PUNCH ORDERS 116 SOUTH MAIN STREET GERMAN POET TO SPEAK SATURDAY Dr. Ludwig Fulda, the eminent Ger- man poet, playwright and translator, will lecture at 8:00 o'clock Saturday night in room B of the law building, under the auspices of the German soci- eties of Ann Arbor. His subject will be "Die Deutschen in Amerika, ein Kultur-Problem." Dr. Fulda is in America on a lecture tour, and during his three week stay, he will speak at various educational centers of the country. He is well known throughout Europe, and as an author, stands today with Sudermann and :lauptmann. He is the author of "Der Talisman," a satirical drama, "Das Verlorene Paradies" and "Der Dummkopf," a play which was pre- sented by the Deutscher Verein in 1911. In speaking of Dr. Fulda, Prof. Ed- ward S. Meyer of Western Reserve University said, "Fulda's preeminence among modern German authors lies' in his exquisite expression. (ITi BREVITIE . ffee Roasters and PUBLISH BOOK OF MICHIGAN SONGS A new Michigan song book has at last become a reality. One hundred and fifty copies arrived from the pub- lishers in Cincinnati yesterday, and 900 more are expected to follow with- in the next few days. The new book was edited and ar- ranged by two Michigan alumni, Roy Dickinson Welch, '09, and Earl Vin- cent Moore, '12. The work of publi- cation, which began last June, was superintended by Mrs. Root, of the University Music House. The decorat- ing was done by J. H. Meier, '14E, and Fritz Bade, '15, making the book essentially a Michigan production. It is dedicated to President-Emeritus James B. Angell. Forty-fivesongstare contained in the book, most of them adopted from the different Michigan Union operas. Only three of the songs do not belong purely to the campus, but they are al- lied with university traditions. Many of the songs appear in pub- lished form for the first time. The majority of these have been taken from the junior girls' plays. Some, such as "The Ladies," "Away WithI Rum" and "Ta-Dum Ta-Dum," have{ been sung around the campus for sev- eral years. Michigan's Alma Mater song, how- ever, does not appear in the new book. The copyright to this song is controll- ed by outside.parties, who refuse to allow thelauthors of the new publica- tion to use it, without the payment of a large rental. In order to prevent any traffic block-' ade on State street after the Penn game Saturday, Chief of Police Kenny will enforce a new rule for the regula- tion of vehicles. Automobiles will not be permitted to stand before the en- trance to Ferry field, and all drivers of automobiles must turn east on Arch street or south into Edwin street, when travelling on State street.
