The demand for Yost coached men is littic to be wondcered at when oe con- siders the success which these men have mt with in the ast, and during the present season. Michigan's brand of football has this year been taught in schools fromn coast to coast by suh former stars as "A ndy'' Smith, '"Rill'' Edmunds, "Indian" Shulte, "Tor" o- gle and "Dave" Allerdice. Probably the most attention, how- ever, has been centered on the friend-- ly rivalry between "Carp" Carpel, S'*Tonm" Law ton and "Do;" 1Dougas, due to the fact that the teams coached by these men have met on the field of battle this fall. "~Carp'' Carpell has been busily n- gaged propounding the mysteries of the gamne to the stronlg Olivet aggre- ,ation, "Toni" Lawton at the Univer- sity of Detroit and "Doug" Douglas hans met with huge success with Mich- iain's .All-Fresh team. Douglas seems to have the nest of the argument, his team having humbled Lawton's crew, who ill turn downed Olivet in a 12) to 12 game. ~ WP$IWER PLANT WILL2 BE Work on the new university power p lant, which wais begun in February, is progressing rapidly, and, according to Superintendent of Grounds, Marks, vrill be put into service within the next four' or five months. The new building, which is approximately 120 by 192 feet, will have one room set aside for the engineer's records, whilej the remaining floor space will be de-1 voted to boilers and machinery. The sub-station, which is being erected be- t ween the medical building and the ymnasiani, will be the distributing center for all the buildings on the campus. Neither the university hos- pital nor the observatory, however, will be supplied for the present by the new plant, but plans have been a-1 ang;ed so that all the buildings may be; united under the system in the future. The main building and the sub-stationI are connected by a tunnel of concrete.1 eight feet high and six feet wide, with walls from six to eight inches thick. ?wive lines of pipe and two cables run through the passageway. The 0old (power plant, which has been in service' since 1892, will be taken over, with all its equipment, into the engineering ( departmient, 10o' exerimental purpo)s- es.
