Wright, who has charge of the educational policies of the German societies of Michigan state, has just completed a question- aire on the teaching of Germanto be sent to all the superintendents of the state. The work of distribution is being undertaken by the office of the public instruction at Lansing, which will up- on receipt of the answers, forward the replies to Prof. Florer. He will pre- pare a report on the teaching of Ger- man in Michigan, which will be pre- sented to various conventions of Ger- man societies, and to teachers' con- ventions, and the standing national committee of five of which Prof. Flor- er is a member. This report will be the first com- plete report on the teaching of German in the United States, and will be used as a basis for the report on the na- tional committee for the next meeting of the German-American alliance at San Francisco in 1915. Arrangements are also being made to have this report presented to the various German cit- ies.
