After exchanging nearly a score of telegrams with his eastern manager, the Choral Union authori- ties were finally able to arrange a, date mutually agreeable. With two concerts during the State Teachers' Convention this week and the Matzenauer recital early in No- vember, it was found impossible to arrange for Mr. Paderewski to open, the Choral Union series. Accordingly, it twill be opened November 12 by Madame Matzenauer, with the Pader- ewski concert breaking a long gap be- tween the appearance of Carl Flesch, February 8, and the Festival in May.
