Starr Lasher, erstwise manufacturer of ed- itorials, who is now feasting on the bounty of the state. Starr says nice things about us and we hasten to re- ciprocate by lending publicity to our conviction that Starr is an ornament to The Department of Public Instruc- tion. Also it pleases us to note that Fred Ingram late ornament of our esteem- ed Council is busily engaged in spread- ing pills and powder over the face of an unsuspecting countryside, in the capacity of gentlemanly drummer for Ingram & Co. This is the day when you have as many life long and bosom friends as there are candidates for offices in your class. Gillett There will be a meeting of the night editors -Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Welcome Commodores. It is with evident pleasure that Michigan resumes her gridiron rela- Lions with Vanderbilt on Ferry Field this afternoon. We have missed the genial men from the other side of the Mason and Dixon line, missed their clean cut and snappy playing, their scrappiness and good sportsmanship. Never have our relations with a visit- ing team been more friendly than with -he Commodores, coached by our own Dan McGuigan. We used to look for- ward to these contests as one of the year's banner events and we were al- ways sorry when the sturdy men from the Southland left our little city, We were sorry to see them disappear from our schedule two years ago be- cause we remembered with" admira- tion the time when eleven yellowjack- ets held Michigan on their one yard line, when big Joe Curtis bucked their line three times and failed to move, the southerners.
