"Baby Mine," the success of two continents, will have its first local presentation at the New Whitney The- atre Saturday, October 28, under the direction of William A. Brady Ltd. Laughter holding both its sides but ill expresses the condition of an audi- ence witnessing "Baby Mine." A young wife, in order to win back the affection of her husband, is persuaded by her friends to adopt heroic meas- ures to bring about the return of the wanderer. Then ensues a series of absurd mistakes and complications, which makes the audience roar with delight. Go to. the New Whitney The- ater and see how Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Jinks, aided and abetted by the young wife, accomplish the return of her husband, and if you simply don't scream at the spectacle consult a doc- £or. "Baby Mine" cannot be dealt with adequately in cold print, it is too fun- 2y. Wild West at the MaJee. Tonight the long expected and much exploited Wild West Show comes to the Majestic theater and if the advance predictions. can be relied upon this will undoubtedly be the climax of the local vaudeville season and inciden- taly be one of the greatest sensation- al surprises ever presented by the management. All of the stunts so familiar in the open air exhibitions of Buffalo Bill, Pawnee Bill and others will be repro- duced on the stage of the Majestic to- night and the numerous cowboys, girls, ponies, bucking bronchos and horses will cause a few thrills to run over the Majestic crowd. The balance of the new show will include Mason and Claire, a "sister" act; The Trav- atoire Trio, wandering .street musi- cians; Provol, a clever mimic and the usual exclusive Photoplays. This af- ternoon at four o'clock the wild west aggregation will give a free exhibition on the streets in front of the Majestic theater. Saturday afternoon everyone who attends the matinee will receive free a false face in honor of Hallow- e'en. Vocal Lecture Recital. The series of Historical Lecture Re- citals by members of the School of Music faculty was started on its course yesterday afternoon when William Howland, head of the vocal department gave a recital illustrating the devel- opment of the Oratorio from Bach to Elgar. Each of the numbers had a special significance. The Bach num- ber displayed this composer's use of. contrapuntal treatment, the Haendel Aria the florid treatment, the Mendels- sohn and Gounod selections the more dramatic element, and the scene from Elgar's"Caractacus"the modern type of music as it appears in this more state- ly and reserved form of work. Earl Moore, '12, was at the piano. The next musical event will be the Faculty concert on November 2, and Cutting Cafe Cor. State aid Monroe Block from Campus Mrs. C. A. RANSON on November 8 Mr. Samuel Lockwood and Mrs. George B. Rhead will give a. joint Violin-Sonata Recital. Soph engineer football practice 3:30. c at WILLIAM A. (Continued from page 1.) went for a gain. There is something the matter though with the point a. the Michigan offense this fall. It wat noticeable in the O. S. U. game tha every one ot the visitors that brok( through the line when this play was signalled were looking backwards foi the ball, and the hurler had a chance to throw it to which ever one was no, covered up. On the other hand whet, the Wolverines tried the stunt only one man looked back and it made i. easy to spot him. Bogle Made the First Two Scores. Bogle booted the oval high and tru between the posts on two different oc. casions after Carpel had made fre. catches on the 28 and 31 yard lines After the kickoff Craig and Carpe tore off substantial gains and then McMillan squirmed through right guard for a touchdown. Craig made the third touchdown following several brilliant runs by the backs. McMillan Hurt and Picard Goes In. McMillan was hurt returning the ball on the kickoff and Picard took his place. Carpel went over for the' last score of the day after Paterson had intercepted a forward pass. The coach then sent the men through a long signal drill and all of the reg- ulars were in except Wells, Pontius, and McMillan. The Vanderbilt game promises to be the hardest one of the year on Ferry field with the possible exception of the Penn contest and Yost is not taking any chances on the Commodores catching his men una- wares if he can help it.
