Majestic Theater.
The summer season of entertain-
2 mnent at the Majestic theater has start-.
ed out with every assurance of, suc-
cess. The fa tthat the prices ;have
been reduced and that a continuous,
show is given each night from seven to-
tn o'clocJ each performauce lasting
over one hour is the magnet that will
attract the summer residents of this
city. Superb photoplays and special)
song features furnished by Frank Rose
the famous cabaret entertainer will be
changed entirely each' night. There
will be a matinee tomorrow at four
o'clock with silver souvenirs given
away free to the ladies.

"Bill" Fanning, '13 E, whose draw-
ings have appeared in the Gargoyle,
has been selected by the committee in
charge of the senior reception to de-
sign the official poster for the event.
'The-various details in the prepara-
tion for the reception are rapidly as-
suming definite form and the present
outlook leaves little room for hitches
in the execution of the plans. On all
sides the committee is endeavoring to
cooperate with the university officials
in charge of the anniversary celebra-
tion. The delegates from other uni-
versities who will be here for the cel-
ebration will be tendered a special re-
c3ption at the Waterman gym entrance.
The decorations sub-committee is
working with Prof. C. S. Denison,
who is in charge of the decorations,
in. order to keep the trimming of the,
gymnasiums in harmony with the gen-
eral scheme to be used for the entire
campus.
Fischer's fifteen-piece orchestra sta-
tioned in a stand, which is to be erect-
ed in the center of the floor, will in-
troduce a large number of specialties
particularly originated for the occas-
ion.
Tickets for the function are now on
sale and may be secured from Jervis
B. Webb, '12 E. Gallery seats may be
obtained at the price of $1.00.

A unique variation of the honor sys-
tem was recently used in conducting
an examination on the subject of
"Foods" in Dean V. C. Vaughan's class
in hygiene. The students in the end
seats handed a set of questions they
had previously prepared to the others
in their respective rows. At the end
of the hour they collected the blue
books, which were handed in, correct-
ed and graded, at the next meeting of
the class. The examiners were grad-
ed on questions they asked and the
accuracy with which they marked the
papers.
Y. 3. C. A. SECURES SUMMiIER
WORK FOR MANY STUDENTS,'
During the past few days the Y. M.
C. A. has filled a large number of po-
sitions for outside work with universi-
ty men. Large manufacturing con-
cerns and summer resorts throughout
the state have written for students,,
as they prefer college help for the
summer, and have asked to be sup-
plied. As there is a large number of
students in the university who desire
such work for vacation the places are
being filled rapidly.
Librarian ioch to Attend Dedication.,
Mr. Theodore Koch, university li-
brarian, will represent the university,
at the dedicatn of the Harper Memo-
rial Library which is to take place at
the University of Chicago June 10 and
11. The library has been erected in
memory of former President Harper
of that institution.

In order to protect the large number
of visitors who will be in tl e city dur-
ing commencement week Chief-of-Po-
lice Apfel intends securing plain cloth-
es men from Detroit and Toledo who
will aid the local police in keeping the
city free from pickpockets. Chief Ap-
fel believes that the introduction of
foreign police into Ann Arbor at the
time of the Seventy-fifth Anniversary
Celebratoin, will materially prevent
the "dips" from working to their best
advantages.
