FOR SENIOR
XPECTED SHORTLY.

Delay Caused Through
11pt to Substitute Low
Crade Work,

At-

the

Commencement invitatknios for the
senior lits may be expected here short-
ly, according to Chairman Clinton
Sears of the invitation committee. Fin-
al proof of the invitations was receiv-
ed and sent back to the engravers last
Monday, and.the completed orders
ought to arrive here some time next
week.
"The delay in the matter has been
due to the poor work which the en-
gravers attempted to shove off on the
committee," said Chairman Sears last
evening. "Practically every bit of the
work on the first three proofs submit-
ted was rejected because of cheap
quality, and with the return of the
third proof was sent word that the
order would be cancelled unless a
much higher quality of work was
shown. This resulted in a proof, re-
ceived last Monday, that was accept-
able to the committee. I expect that
the completed invitations will be here
next week.":

Owing to the bad condition of the
Ferry field tennis courts, only four
matches of the Varsity tennis tourna-
ment have been played off up to date.
If the tournament is to be finished, it
is necessary that the first round be
played off by the end of the week,
which means that every one of the
preliminary matches will have to be
played this morning. Those matches
that are not played this morning will
be defaulted, as it is necessary that
the second round be started next week.
Arrangements for this morning's game
may be made by calling Holmboe at
1309.
The results of the games up to date
are as follows: Miller defeated Mor-
ris 6-1, 6--1; Pinnell defeated Mont-
gomery 6-4, 4-6, 6-3; Shafroth de-
feated Rankin 6-1, 6-1; Coolidge de-
faulted to Rendel.
