First it is fe- ver, then mumps, diphtheria and now sore throats. This is unfortunate from all standpoints. It makes the need of an infirmary more keenly felt and more anxiously desired. Then the health of the students would be under the direction of a general med- ical director who would be able to take the proper precautions when such situations arise. Some of the doctors who have under their care students who are suffering from this sore throat epidemic, al- though knowing that it is very con- tagious, have- not warned their pa- tients to stay at home. By staying away from classes, from their board- ing houses and general places of con- gregation the afflicted ones will as- sist materially in keeping the epidem- ic down. This is their duty and they should take every means in their power to prevent more cases of the obnoxious throat disease. Even if they are proud of it, this is no valid reason why they should visit their friends and tell them about it and enable them to be attacked. Do not visit classes. Stay at home, under proper care, until the disease ias entiely disappeared. 0 * ALL SENIOR SING TUESDAY * * J.UNE 6 ON STEPS OF MEMO- * * RIAL HALL. * * SENIOR LIT SING EVERY * * THURSDAY NIGHT AT SEVEN * * O'CLOCK, TAPPAN OAK. * # # * SENIOR ENGINEER SING EV- * * ERY TUESDAY AND THURS- * * DAY NIGHT AT SEVEN * * O' C L O C K, ENGINEERING * * BENCHES. * ** * SENIOR LAW SING EVERY * * THURSDAY NIGHT AT SEVEN * * O'CLOCK ON STEPS OF LAW * * BUILDING. * * * * * * * *. * * * * * * * INJURED STUDENT APPEARS TO BE SLOWLY RECOVERING Harry J. MICHIGAN RANKS WITH EAST IN HER MECHANICS COURSES That eastern schools. are using meth- ods similar to those in vogue at the present time In the department of en- gineering mechanics here, is the con- clusion reached by Prof. C. J. Tilden. "I found on my recent trip through the East, after a thorough study of the oldest technical schools, that Michigan offers as complete a course in mechanics as any school in the country," said Prof. Tilden last even- ing. The next probable change in this de- partment will be the installation of more thoroughly equipped laborato- ries and Prof. Tilden has gleaned in- formation that will be an exceedingly important factor toward its success. More promptness than usual has been shown by this year's prospective lit graduates in paying up their diplo-. ma fees. Of the 360 odd seniors now scheduled to carry away the parch- ment, 197 have already parted with the necessary cash. Present indications show that the graduating class this June will be larger than the total number of grad- uates during the whole year 1911. S oz. and 16 oz. Jars: ] Strike, Prince Albert.
