The Initiates.
Phi Be*a Kappa will hold its fourth
annual banquet in Barbour gymnasi-
um at 7 o'clock tonight. The members
of the class of 1912, that were recent-
ly elected to the society, will be the
guests of honor. The principal ad-
dress will be given by Prof. Felix
Emanuel Schelling, professor of En-
glish literature at the University of
Pennsylvania. Prof. A. G. Canfield,
president of the local chapter, will
preside.
The address of Prof. Schelling will
not be open to the general public.
Suffragist Will Speak at High School.
Mrs. Beatrice Forbes-Robertson
Hale will speak on "Equal Suffrage
for Women" at the High School Audi-
torium Friday night at 8:00 o'clock.
Mrs. B. F.-R. Hale will be the guest
of Mrs. G. W. Patterson while in the
city.
Dr. Warthiln Testifies in Nurder Case.
Dr. A. S. 'Warthin, of the medical
*faculty, left yesterday for Bad Axe
where he will testify in the Sparling
murder case.
,, Will Give Browning Recital Tonight.
JR. D. Hollister's class in interpre-
tative readings will give a recital from
Browning's works at 7:30 this evening
in room 302, north wing of University
hall. This recital, which is free to the
public, is given in honor of the 10 0th
"-anniversary of Browning's birthday.
Grand Rapids lien to Dine at U~nioni,
The Grand Rapids club will hold its
first dinner on Thursday evening, May
23, at the Union. A short business
session will follow a social program.
