MUSIC AND DRAMA (
"The Chocolate Soldier."
No light opera of the prgent decade
has elicited such ferventr admiration
from critics, or such wholesale and
continuous devotion from the thea.ter-
going public of America, as has Oscar
Strauss' "The Chocolate Soldier,"
which in its third season continues to
meet with triumphs. It will be pre-
sented here by the Whitney Opera
company at the New Whitney this ev-
ening, with a superlative cast
and a scenic investiture of supreme
excellence.
"The Chocolate Soldier" is dramat-
ically descended from George Ber-
nard Shaw's comedy-satire, "Arms
and the Man," ,and to the entertain-
ment of romance, war and fun in Bul-!
garia, Oscar Strauss has added a
wealth of stirring martial rhythms,
Coo
dreamy intoxicating waltzes and rol-
licking melodies full of joy and laugh-
ter.

We use. a yarn in Holeproof Hosiery that costs
an average of 70 cents per pound.
It is Egyptian and Sea Island Cotton..
There are no better yarns to be had. They are
3-ply, soft and fine.
We could buy common 2-ply yarn for almost half
what we pay for 3, but the 3-ply is stronger. Thus
can we back our thin, sheer hose with the six
months' guarantee.
Nobody wants hosiery any lighter than we can
weave with this soft 3-ply yarn.
Nobody wants a more comfortable hose than the
"Holeproof" we make for cold weather wear.
And nobody demands a more stylish hosiery, for
"Holeproof" is the very utmost in style.
