TALK

Pupils' Recital.l
A recital by the advanced pupils of
the School of Music will be held in the
Frieze Memorial Hall tomorrow af-
ternoon at 4:15. It will be complimen-
tary to the public. The violin-sonata
recital, scheduled after many post-
ponements for tomorrow, has again
been put off, this time until March
27, because of the continued indispo-
sition of Mrs. George B. Rhead.
"The Chocolate Soldier."
However fickle the theatergoing peo-
ple of America may be to nine-tenths
of the ephemeral productions that pass
across the stage, they are notably
faithful to their favorites. The uni-
versal demand for another season of
"The Chocolate Soldier," the equisite
Viennese opera by Oscar Strauss,
founded on that brilliant compound of
romance, comedy,and satire, by George
Bernard Shaw, "Arms and The Man,"
compelled Mr. Whitney to assemble
again the Whitney Opera Company
and send "The Chocolate Soldier" out
across the country on its third season
of setting millions laughing with its
spirited comedy and intoxicating them
with the varied beauties of its melo-
dies.
This king of modern light operas
will be presented in this city at the
New Whitney theater Wednesday,
March 20.

'11 Medics' Memorial is Installed.
An automatic' drinking fountain has
been installed in the southwest corner
of the main corridor of the medical
building.' Last spring the '11 medics
voted to place the fountain as a class
memorial.
Mr. C. J. West to Address Chemists.'
The university section of the Amer-
ican Chemical Society will meet this
afternoon at 4 o'clock in room 151
chemistry building. Mr. C. J. West will
present a paper on "Recent Advances
in the Carbonium Theory."
Senior Laws Order Caps and Gowns.
The senior law class has awarded
the contract for caps and gowns to
Mack and Co., and all members of the
class are asked to have their measure-
ments taken as soon as possible.
