Instead of the scheduled violin-so- nata recital, Mr. William Howland will give a vocal lecture-recital in High School Hall this afternoon. This is the recital which was postponed two weeks ago because of the blizzard, and is given now because Mrs. George B. Rhead who was" to have played with Mr. S.I'. Lockwood is ill. The violin- sonata recital will be given March 20. Mr. iowland will sing the song cycles of Schubert and Schumann. Friday evening, Ethel Smurthwaite, soprano, and Louis Cogswell, baritone, will give the second recital in the se- ries being given by the junior miembers of the vocal faculty.
