In the scrappiest and hardest fought game of the season, the junior lits eliminated the freshmen of the same department from the inter-class bas- ketball race last evening by the close margin of 25 to 23, and at the same time won the department champion- ship. It was anybody's game from start to finish, each team taking and losing the lead throughout the entire contest. At the end of the first half the score stood 16 to 15 in favor of the first year men, but in the second peri- od the juniors outpointed their oppon- ents, due partially to a first year ten- dency to foul.. Spring featured the contest by scor- ing 23 of the 25 points made by the juniors. In the first half the little forward was laid out when he collided with the wall, but gamely continued the contest.
