This the Council felt that they had no
right to handle, having had nothing to
do with its collection, hence this was
turned over to the general treasury of
the band and I am informed that they
used none of it on the trip to Cornell,
but used it for current expenses. Af-
ter provision had been made for the
band trip it was shown that there
would be a surplus. This surplus
was set aside in a separate fund to be
a nucleus for the requisite amount
for a trip next year. The Council de-
sired, as was announced in the Daily
of November 8, 1911, to start and
maintain a permanent fund so that at
least one trip each year would be as-
sured. To this end as was announced
in the Daily of November 10, 1911, the
fund was established, This amount
was never mingled with the Council's
moneys but was deposited, in a local
bank in. a separate account, where it
is at present,
ARTHUR DAV1ITNPOIRT,
President Student Council.

self, I will have to refer you to him.
As far as I remember, about half of
the fund which was collected by the
Council was used for the purpose for
which it was originally intended. Mr.
Bohnsack had charge of the entire
fund. The bugle was purchased from
the C. G. Conn Co., of Elkhart, Ind.,
for $50. If you have no record giving
the charge for the same, refer to them.
The cord was purchased from Mack &
co., of Ann Arbor, for $1.00. A picture
was taken of the instrument, which, I
believe, cost 75 cents. Express ship-_
ment to New York dock cost somethin~g
like $1.50.
