For the first year in the history of the university, the sophomore prom will be a truly representative event. Restricted as it has been in the past to a small group of fraternities, the affair had no significance whatever other than impertinent disregard of traditional Michigan democracy. Through the efforts of the Student Council, backed by unmistakable stu- dent sentiment, the prom will now be open to the entire student body. If it is supported, and there is every indi- cation in that direction, the event will be one of the most enjoyable social functions of the year. Jenks is New '15 Lit Track Manager. "Dinner With" is what the soph lits call the feast they are going to enjoy at the Union tonight, for the lonesome men are going to bring the women of the class to grace the festive planks. The town has been scoured for little pamphlets on "How to Be Silent Though Eating Soup" or "Peas and Q's -Do- Not Eat the Former With a Knife." But the "eats" will even be subordi- nated to the program, in which the guests will play an important part. A separate table has been left for the "stags" but there will probably be more dears present if the "dough" holds out. The dinner will be given at 5:30.
