This does not imply that there will be features of an objection- able or vulgar nature but Martin John- son the travelogue man will talk on the subject of "Lepers of Hawaii" and other subjects of great interest and educational value, especially to med- ics. Many valuable photographs of pictures will be shown. Manager Lane has arranged this matinee for the pur- pose of presenting travelogue features that for obvious reasons cannot be presented before a mixed audience in a regular vaudeville program. A 'darge of ten cents will be made. FIFTEEN YEARS AGO TODAY. Vesper services, consisting of a pro- gram of sacred and classical selec- tions, were held in University hall. Women athletes of the university were trying out a new game called "Newcomb," a sport described as re- sembling basketball with "the element of roughness eliminated." TWENTY YEARS AGO TODAY. A mock session of Congress was held in University hall, the student "poli- ticians" being about evenly divided as to party affiliation. President James B. J-HOP INVITATIONS TO BE GfIVENTO COMMITTEE TODAY Invitktions for the 1913 Junior hop were received by General Chairman Kanzler yesterday from E. A. Wright and Co., of Philadelphia. A meeting of the hop committee has been called. for this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Chi Psi house. The invitations will be distributed among the various representatives at that time. TIe University of Illinois is making efforts to get together the 592 men and women that graduated from the uni- versity in the first four years of its existence, 1868 to 1872, at the com- mencement in June. Because of some damage done to the train which took them to the Wis- consin game, the members of the Min- nesota football team have been refus- ed their "M's" until the railroad's bill of $48 Is paid by the guilty party. A four year's agricultural course consisting of alternate years on the farm and at the university, has been inaugurated at Ohio State. The trustees at Ohio State are inves- tigating the feasibility of a university press to take care of the needs of the department of journalism.
