Preliminaries for the local Northern
Oratorical League contest will begin
on February 19 and will last until Feb-
ruary 24. All the orations must be
placed in the hands of Secretary H. B.
Schuerman, 823 Kingsley street by 10
p. mn. onlMonday, February 12. The
orations must not exceed 1,850 words
and are to be typewritten. Degree
men are not eligible for the contest.
Members of the engineering depart-
ment who wish to enter will deliver
their speeches with the corresponding
class of the literary department, and
students in all the professional de-
partments may enter in the corres-
ponding class of the law department.
Professor Trueblood last night stat-
ed that prospects looked bright and
that he expected that 60 contestants
would compete.
Conduct Women's League Campaign.
Agnes Parks, financial secretary for
the Women's League will go to Sagi-
naw at the end of this week to con-
duct the residence hall campaign in
that city. She will probably remain
there for several days.
