Have you sneered with the rest at the man in your class who seems unique? Look at him again and again and then laugh, if you must, alone. For pos- sibly beneath the blue flannel shirt with the bright red tie, and the bat- tered hat, with a wandering lock stick- ing through the hole at the top, there lurks the spark of genius. Perhaps the waywardness of the clothes and the queerness of the man hides a real. individuality. There is a possibility that before-many years the shirt will be gray, the tie blue, the hat whole, and the hair cut, and the man a leader and a thinker. And strange as it may seem, leaders and thinkers are what a university wants. The thing has happened before. Why not again? Laugh with the rest if you can, four years hence. It does'n't. pay now.
