Our Griff Hays trod the old paths yesterday as he paused enroute to the city by the straits where he will as- sume the arduous endeavor of per- suading a suspicious public to insure its precious life for the benefit of its heirs, assigns, successors-and Griff. Looked sort of good to see that short McMillan person in real togs and the resulting atmospheric disturb- ances in the vicinage of Philadelphia, Pa., will be no less pleasurable. 'Tis hard to resist the feminine call, Shorty. Some of the rest of us, who also pulled heart ties to make a get- away for the old stand, can tender sympathy. Aeronauts Meet Friday. The Aeronautic Society will have an open meeting Friday evening, at which the plans for the year will be discussed. H. L. Cornell, president of the society, will address the meeting and Prof. Sadler will give an account of his observations during his Euro- pean tour of the past summer. The equipment of the society now consists of a dynamometer by which the lift and drift of various shaped planes may be determined, and a glider, of the Baby Wright type. During the year this apparatus will be used in making tests along the line of air re- sistance similar to those which have recently been made by Prof. Zahm, of Catholic University, at Washington, D. Ask yourself two questions and de- cide fairly. Can I afford the trip? It costs one dollar. Does the team need and deserve my support? Em- phatically, it does. The game will be a hard fought and exciting battle for M. A. C. always puts up a scrappy contest. The ex- cursion will be one of the big celebra- tion-jolly fellows-Fatima cigarettes, of course variety, as hilarious as you wish to make it. But it will be more than a "party." It will be a test of our loyalty to the best team Michigan has boasted of in years. It may be a joy-fest but first of all it will be the grandest little con- cert of 1,000 untrained voices that ev- er left Ann Arbor knowing well that they would return ruined. Soloists are not wanted but if you test 98 per cent. enthusiasm and 2 per cent. husky vocal chords, you're elected. The practice of stamping the feet is objected to be- cause that it loosens the gallery sup- ports. Engineers who examined the con- struction of University hall last winter did not actually condemn it. They said that it. would hold a large crowd. under an even strain. They further stated that an uneven strain, such as might be caused by stamping the feet would be danger- ous. Hereafter students will be ask- ed to bear this in mind and to give vent to their feelings in some other appropriate way. 56 Lafayette Ave. 1 GRANGER'S School of Dancing Opens October 10th.
