At the last meeting of the Senior Dental Society, it was decided to thor- oughly investigate concerning the pub- lication-of a local Dental Journal. The matter was brought up because of -the interest manifested by the students of the department in regard to such a magazine.-, President Karl E. Bliss has appoint- ed L. C. Shonerd, C. Buillis, and A. Bordato as a special committee to in- vestigate the proposition. Illinois Theater-Rioters Punished. Two juniors at the University of Ill- inois have been dismissed for one year for taking part in a "theater riot" in Champaign, Friday night, November 24. The rioters were held the more culpable since they had pushed a burn- ing barrel into one of the exits of the theater. Engineers Plan Many Social Functions The junior engineers will hold their first class dance of the year at Gran- ger's, on January 5, 1912, and a sec- ond one on January 15, 1912. The sen- ior and freshman engineers together with the sophomores are all planning to hold either class dinners or dances the first month of the new year Law Alumni Form New Partnership. Harry D. Jewell, '91 L, and Alvin E. Ewing, '92 L, have formed a partner-. ship for the general practice of law in Grand Rapids. Mr. Jewell has tender- ed his resignation as Probate Judge of Kent county after having h'eld the po- sition since 1897, and the law firm of Ewing and Dalton of Grand Rapids has been dissolved by mutual consent. These events left the two Michigan grads free to form a new partnership with the result that the firm of Jewell and Ewing was made up. Prof. Allen Injures Knee Severely. A letter received by Secretary Smith Monday from Constantinople, states that Prof. John R. Allen, who is on a leave of absence, has been laid up witht an injured knee since early in Novem-. ber.
