Ev- er sinlce the first Michigan opera there has been difficulty in securing a chair- man who was fitted by experience for, executive position. This year it was necessary for P"res- ident Blish to secure a new chairman to fill the vacancy left by the resig- nation of Herbert Trix. there was no one who was in position to step into the breach without great difficulty and personal sacrifice. Such situations will be eliminated in the future. The three assistants whom the chairman selects will be trained in the work beside lifting some of the weight which the pres- ent manager is carrying.
