MU-IC, AND DRAMAI
Pepito Arrioi, Pinist.
Pep ito Arriola, the musician-irre-
spective of his age-is a marvel. His
technique is quite perfect; far more than
this, however, is that "something"
which is described as "that divine
spark of musical beauty that is given
only to a few in eachgeneration." The
music he brings forth from his instru-
ment makes a direct appeal to the
heart.
Hle appears at the Whitney th ater
this evening.
Miss B3arrymore's coming to the New
Whitney theater on Monday, November
13, is looked forward to as a dramatic
event of unusual importance, not alone
because of her great popularity, but
because she iskto appear in the great
English success "The Witness for the
Defense," a' play written by A. E. W
Mason. It is a play that is extremely
Interesting, often thrilling, and always
distinguished.
Miss lBarrymore will have in her sup-
porting company A. E. Anson, late
leading man of the New Theater (now
the Century), Leslie Faber, son-in-law
of Henry Arthur Jones, the distinguish-
ed English playwright, A. L. Abingdon,
Lumsden .Hare, Ernest Stallard and£
Annie Esmond, well known for their
work in many Frohman Companies.
Charles Frohman has given the play
a splendid scenic production. The
first act showing the interior of an of-
*ficer's tent in India, by night, with a
thrilling scene in progress, is describ-
ed as decidedly Kiplingesque.

Washington Daily published a 12 page
edition ,Friday morning. A two color
front page and a history of the univer-
