"A History, of the President's Cabi- net" is the title of a book, just publish- ed, written by Mary Louise Hinsdale, daughter of the late Professor B. A. Hinsdale of the education department, and niece of the present dean of the Homeopathic college. It is a history of the men comprising the cabinets from Washington to Taft It is pub- lished under the direction of the his- tory department and is the first of a proposed series to be known as the University of Michigan History Stud- ies. "It's a good, scholarly book," -said Professor Van Tyne. "It is the only historical study of the cabinet, and it is something of which we may well be proud." Although this organ- ization embraces all Chinese students in the state all but two of the mem- bers, who are girls at Ypsilanti, are in attendance at this institution., The aim of the association is to promote the welfare of the Chinese both at home and abroad. It hopes to bring about a closer alliance betwee the students here and to attract new' men to Michigan. Its success along this line can be estimated when it is realized that out of seventy men com- ing to this country for the first time, twenty came to Michigan, and a half dozen more are enrolled who come from other schools. Although Cornell had the largest enrollment of Chinese last year it is altogether probable that Michigan, will pass them this year. "This organization," says Albino Sycip, "Should not be confused with the Chinese Students' Alliance which is a national organization and while it's membership includes all the mem- bers of the local association there is no connection between them."
