He was for. the past two summers an instruc- tor in swimming in the Detroit high schools. 0 The death of Harry F. Burkholder, 'T , aoccurred September 24 at St. Thomas, Ont. He had ben suffering from heart trouble since last winter, the trouble finally resulting in his, death. But for his illness he should, have graduated in June. He was a member of the student Masons, and the funeral was conducted by the Ma- sonic. order at St. Thomas. had Monday. The regular gridiron was not used and the one on which the set-to took place was the same on which Herring- ton broke his leg last fall. More than one of the big crowd of students pres- ent remarked on the coincidence and it was a relieved bunch when time was called. Forward Pass Works in Wind. The high wind made the use of the forward pass a good deal a matter of luck but at that there were several cleverly executed ones that were good for substantial gains. The new sig- nals made the contest today fairer than on Monday as the scrubs did not know where every play was going and in addition the second team had some formations today and they work- ed them for good gains on several oc- casions. In all, the Varsity made four touchdowns with Wells carrying away the big part of the score and Wenner and Thomson making one each. The line-up today was as follows: Varsity. .. University. (Continued from page 1.) night no clues had been discovered. It is thought the safeblowers were familiar with the police system of the campus inasmuch as they waited until the campus policeman had retired from his beat at 4 o'clock before ex- ploding the safe, and thereby leaving only one man to offer resistance in case of discovery. In speaking of the robbery yester- day, Chief of Police Apfel said: "The theft demonstrates that one watchman is insufficient for the whole campus.' The robbers evidently had an easy time as the vault and sale were inade- quate security. I believe two men were concerned in the work, and that these two men were experts. Nobody seems to have heard the actual explo- sion. The attention of the watchman: was attracted by the slamming of a dloor." As far as can be ascertained this is the first incident of the kind in the history of the University. . Gold Plated Clocks, originally $3.00.......
