Our speciailty "The Squaw Man" In "The Squaw Man," which comes to the New Whitney Theater Saturday, November 4, Edwin Milton Royle has written a drama in which there is much stirring incident, and has min- gled the tragic and lighter shades of life in the right proportions. The play tells a story that is full of throb- bing interest that often becomes in- tense. Its glimpse of English life in the upper circles is followed by a pic- ture of ranch life in the West that is breezy and natural. Its action is spir- ited, without being overdrawn. The leading role of "The Squaw Man" is admirably suited to Mr. Dill, and there is every indication of the part being one of his greatest successes. Clar- ence Bennett and Company, the mana- gers of the enterprise, have given Mr. Dill an exceptionally strong, support- ing company.. Alpha Nw' Team is Chosen Robert J. Curry, '12, '14 L, Rex C. Collins, '12, and Sylvan S. Grosner, '12, '14 L, were chosen for the debating team that is to represent the Alpha Nu in the semi-final debate against the Webster law debatlng society. From this contest a varsity team will be chosen. H. B. Sherman, '12, '14 L was chosen alternate. The Websters hold their tryout a week from tonight, and the team then chosen will meet the three men of the Alpha Nu society the last week of the month. Prof. J. A. Brumm, Dr. A. II. Thurnau, and Dr. E. L, Adams were the judges. Dent Society and Class Goty ixedy A news siory in yesterday's Daily conveyed the impression tat the senior dental class would elect offi- cers this morning, and that the affairs of the class had been taken over by the faculty. The meeting called for this morning and referred to in the Daily yesterday concerns the Dental Society and has nothing to do with the class election, which was held a week ago. Furthermore, the Yaculty of the dental department are assuming no jurisdiction whatsoever in the organi- zation of the society in question. Tooth Pulling Results Seriously. A hemorrhage resulting from the extraction of three teeth at the dental clinic made it necessary for A. H. Brinkmire, a middle-aged man staying at 920 Monroe street, to be conveyed to the Homeopathic hospital Wednes- day for treatment. The hemorrhage was caused by a -diseased condition of the blood which was not made known at the clinic before the operation. Adelphi Will Hold Tryouts Friday.f At a meeting of the Adelphi society held last evening it was decided to hold the tryouts for the team from which the varsity debaters will be picked, next Friday night. About twelve men are expected to try for the team. Union Will Have Ladies,'Day. Dinners for couples or larger parties will be served at the Union today at 12 o'clock and from 6 to 7 o'clock. (Continued from Page i) slightly marred by the fact that Craig's presence slowed up things a bit. He has played quarter but little since the first part of the M. A. C. game and for that reason was a little bit rusty..Red- den was in charge of the squad and will be of course until Yost's return. 'The fact that the coach went into the cast just before a game would seem to indicate that he figures the game as won but the Easterners have been im- proving right along this week and are playing the best football right now that they have had on tap so far this fall. There will be a fight this after- noon that will be worth seeing as the entire Syracuse squad that arrived in Detroit yesterday afternoon is right on edge for this game. The visitors will not come to Ann Arbor till just before the time set for the start, which will be at about 2:00 o'clock instead of 2:30 as has been the rule so far this fall. The band will be on hand and the cheer leaders will be stationed in front of the cheering section in order to give both themselves and the root- ers a good workout before the Penn game. This afternoon sees the next to the last of the home games of the 1911 schedule and from the advance sale bof tickets the attendance will set a new Syracuse-Michigan record. Eckersal of Chicago who was to um- pire was sent to Minneapolis to cover the Chicago-Minnesota game for the paper which he represents and will be unable to officiate. Up to a late hour last night no one had been secured to take his place. The lineups and the .other officials follow: Michigan Positions Syracuse Garrels........L.E. ..........
