A meeting of the Girls club of Ho- bart guild will be held at the residence, of Mrs. Henry Douglas, 1620 Cam- bridge road, this afternoon at 4:00 o'clock. Deaconess Goodwin, of New York city, will address the meeting. Verein Elects Officers. The senior men's section of the Deutscher Verein met last night and' elected the following officers for the ensuing year: president, Otto Fuelber; vice-president, Harry Folz; secretary and treasurer, I. M. Bassett. The next meeting of the section will be held next Tuesday evening. WOMEN'S LEAGUE TO GIVE ANNUAL RECEPTION FRIDAY. The annual reception of the Wom- an's League to the women of the uni- versity will be held tomorrow after- noon in Barbour gymnasium. Pres- ident Hutchins will deliver an ad- dress and there will be short talks by the officers of the league. The league candy sale will be held in University hall on Saturday. Ac- cording to the present plans a simi- lar sale will be conducted at the time of the Pennsylvania game on Novem- ber 18. Only homemade sweets will be dispensed at the sales and the pro- ceeds will be devoted to supplying the needs of the league. Y. W. C. A. Entertains Faculty Ladies. About 75 faculty ladies attended the reception given in their honor by the Y. W. C. A. at Newberry hall yester- day afternoon. Addresses by the of- fiecers of the association and a tea formed the program of the entertain- meit. All of the ladies were enrolled as honorary members of the associa- tion. Class Team Officials to Meet. Athletic Director Bartelme has call- ed a meeting of the managers and cap- tains of the class football teams, still in the series, for today at 12:05 at the Athletic Association offices. It is ab- solutely necessary that every team be represented. PENN STUDENTS ARE OFFERED ATTRACTIVE MICHIGAN TRIP. PHILADELPHIA, PA., Nov. 1.- Such attractive inducements have been offered by those in charge of the trip to Michigan that it is thought a large crowd of Penn supporters will accom- pany the team to Ann Arbor for the annual game between Michigan and Penn, Nov. 18. The Michigan trip committee has secured a special trai which will leave Philadelphia Friday afternoon, and arrive 11 Ann Arbor about noon on Saturday, and the rate for the trip has been fixed at $39.50 which includes all meals enroute. The return trip will include Satur- day evening in Detroit and Sunday at Niagara Falls.
