states as well as China and Germa-
ny, said Ann Arbor has an eclectic
personality worth profiling.
Teeter Talk was born out of
Askins's desire for a project. After
ruling out producing a low-budget
filn or a show on the Community
Television Network, Askins said he

realized a teeter-totter and a web-
site would be the perfect tool and
medium for an interview-based
blog.
Askins already had the teeter-
totter - a simple but sturdy appa-
ratus, designed without set seats or
handles - that he said he built for
his wife in honor of their 15th wed-
ding anniversary.
After developing the Teeter
Talk concept, Askins said he sent

out invitations to well-known Ann
Arbor residents like politicians and
business owners.
Far from formal interviews, the
Teeter Talk dialogues flow like
casual conversations and cover sub-
jects from the interviewees' opin-
ions and vocations to lighter fare
like the nature of teeter-tottering or
the weather.
