POTTER
Continued from page 1
Maynard said that his mother
cried when she heard that he had
been reading them - because she
feared that they were satanic. But
after viewing the films, she changed
her mind, and decided that they
teach good morals
"I sort of wish that all school bul-
lies would read Harry potter," May-
nard said.
Also present at the event were
two young girls - one of which
was Ana Klimchynskaya, a ninth
grader cloaked in a Hogwarts robe,
who resembled the book's Hermione
Granger character.
"I am basically obsessed," Klim-
chynskaya said with a large grin.
Klimchynskaya owns her own
Harry Potter website titled Hoggy
Warty Hogwarts, which can be found
at http://hwh.muggle-hosh.net.
Klimchynskaya said that she is
fascinated by the series because she
enjoys the mixture of magic and
mystery with a sense of humor.
"It makes kids read more," she
added.
Her friend Jennifer Herstein, an
eighth grader who seemed just as
eager to buy the book as they counted
down the minutes, said that the char-
acters are similar to people in real-
life so its easy to identify with them.
"It's really fun to predict who's
going to die in the next book," she
added with a grin.

parish.
Wright added that of the people he
had spoken to about Shirvell's state-
ments, he could not find many who
agreed with him.
"Most of the people - at least of
the people I'm at work with - more
were outraged and indignant about
(Shirvell's) posture than (the sticker
itself)," he said.
Grillo said that, despite the contro-
versy over the sticker, he felt some peo-
ple were inflating the matter to serve
their own political interests.
"I feel like everyone is just trying
to make us the middle of a political
issue," Grillo said.
"All NYPD wants to do is make
good food for the whole community,"
he added.
PARKING
Continued from page 3
always need to have change for the
meter.
It is inconvenient to park in a
structure instead of at meters, added
Moore, who parks frequently on
North Campus.
"There are never really that many
that are that close to where I need to
park," Moore said.
The price changes for meters and
structures will not bring in any addi-
tional money for the DDA.
"It's essentially a revenue neutral
approach," Hewitt said.
Later enforcement of parking
meters will be discussed again in the
fall. Currently, parking structures
charge in the evening while parking
meters do not.
